Distillate is the workhorse industrial fuel: ultra-low-sulfur diesel powers freight trucks and farm equipment; heating oil warms the Northeast. The U.S. produces — mb/d and holds — mb in stocks ( days of supply). Distillate margins are the cleanest read on industrial demand — they spike before recessions break.
